Interview

It is my third time doing an interview and works with others. First, it took us about ten minutes to find an excellent spot for the interview; then we set up the lighting and camera. It is especially hard to find a quiet place and with good sunlight. We finally set up by the stair with a colored wall. Rachel, who is the first one get to interviewed did a pretty good job answering the questions. I also found that with different skin tone, the light also needs to be adjusted. For example, Rachel has a bright and red-ish tone of skin, so as we lighting we will give her more gold. And I who have more pale skin need gold and white combined flash.

After the shooting, we came back for editing. However, as I import my clips, I accidentally dragged the wrong file. Thus I have to edit mine.

I was DP for this Interview. without the lighting, most of the things look green. In order to match her skin tone, we used a warmer tone which is gold.

Dolphins are quite intelligent creatures. Throughout the ages, there are many stories about dolphins saving people. However, the Japanese government and fishermen do not think so. In their eyes, the dolphins are only slightly better than the pests. For them, killing dolphins and whales is no different from raising pigs, raising cattle and slaughtering them. Of course, I can't understand this.

According to “Dolphin Bay,” Japanese fishermen kill dolphins because the dolphins swallow a large amount of fish, which has nothing to do with income. The Japanese fishermen are "destroying."  As a developed country in Asia, such a powerful nation, I thought they had a sense of ideas of animals are our loyal friends, or at least they can clearly distinguish between right and wrong.
Ironically, a study in August 2009 found that the Japanese government's approach may put their offspring at risk. Dolphin meat contains mercury, cadmium, DDT, and carcinogens such as dioxin and polychlorinated biphenyls. Some cut dolphins may have a mercury content that is more than 5,000 times over the safe limit. Such high levels of mercury can cause severe damage to the human nervous system and can even lead to mental disorders in the consumer. A large number of sciences have proved that dolphins are poisonous and deadly, while Japan has turned a blind eye and even brought dolphins into the student canteen.
Richard Obari, the star of Dolphin Bay, said at the end of the film: "If I knew this earlier, I should use all my savings to buy these dolphins and release them, but I bought a Porsche every year, I feel sad for my stupidity. "
This is an ordinary but great documentary. In the past 18 years, I was scared for the first time, I felt powerless to society, and I was full of pity for nature. I really couldn’t imagine it, and I couldn’t accept it.
