I still remember ten years ago when my cousin brought me to the movie theater and told me how excited she was about the new movie we were going to watch. It was the first day of the movie launch in China.
Until today the image of the fighting scene can vividly jump back to my head when I think of it. It is Avatar.
Cameron spent 12 years researching this 3D technology and created the entire Pandora planet, including the various vegetation animals on the Na' vi language community habits, and even heard that they also produced a book about The encyclopediax of Pandora's Planet...so we see more than 160 minutes of images in 3D glasses, the best way to present this world is, of course, Cameron has prepared this 3D technology for us.
The only flaw in AVATAR is the story. Although the best film of the Golden Globe Award has been successfully nominated, the nomination of the best film in Oscar should be no problem, but it will probably end in the final. Because there are still many flaws in the movie, the biggest regret is that the story is a bit like a commonplace, and the rest of the story includes over-compression of the story. Some of the plot turns are awkward. The love story of the hero and the hero is always better than the real person. The emotional impact and appeal are significantly reduced. The characters are smeared except for the rest of the actor... and so on, especially after reading the whole story after reading it, and discovering it is no different. But I was touched by the shock during the filming process. As mentioned above, Cameron created rich and rich details to recreate the story. Na' vi people can enter like usb. The idea of Pandora's life network is enough to surprise.
To be able to express Pandora's fantastic dream world 100%, Cameron used three breakthrough technologies: virtual camera technology, expression capture, and the joint digital camera system.
Virtual camera technology is still mainly used in 3D virtual world games. For example, "The Legend of Zelda" series game, the player controls his artificial intelligence operator in the virtual world and the two-dimensional feedback of the character behavior information in real time. The environment changes in real time as its position changes. In "Avatar," the actor wears a myriad of sensors to perform "action capture." The computer directly processes the captured data and displays the virtual characters it represents directly on the monitor according to the pre-production ratio, so that the director can be aware of the real-time. Observe the interaction between virtual characters and the virtual electronic Pandora world.
Expression capture refers to computer graphics technology that captures the expression of an actor. Cameron set up a special stage (5 times larger) than the general performance capture studio in Playa Vista, Los Angeles, installed 120 fixed cameras, and captured all the information of the actors' performances from all angles; playing Na' vi The human actor wears a special hat at the same time, and a miniature camera records in detail all the changes in the facial expressions during the performance. Cameron hopes to transfer 95% of the actors' performances and facial expressions to his or her digital Avatar. The result is an incredibly realistic imaging effect, and the audience is completely indistinguishable from the interaction between real people and avatars.
